Delight Cloth
Core 77 has posted a blog that caught my eye. This one is about Japan's Tsuya Textile Co., in conjunction with the Fukui Engineering Center and how they have developed Delight Cloth.
This is a "light-emitting textile" made from superthin fiber optic strands woven into a sort of tapestry. But while it's light-emitting, it's not light-generating--you need to hook up a 100W-150W halogen to one or both ends of the fabric depending on what effect you want to achieve.
You can even add a color controller and get a variety of colors.
The coolest part about this is that the technology can be integrated into clothing.
