HAGA (Hofstra's graphic arts club) hosted a networking event on Tuesday, March 2, 2010.
The event was a great turn out and I personally learned a lot from the speakers.
One thing that Yvonne Dagger said that I will always remember and keep in mind with every piece of what that I do is: Always document your work.
She made me realize that anything can be lost, stolen, or damaged and it's always good to have it documented with pictures.
All of the speakers inspired me to keep going with my dreams and not to give up and no matter what happens something will come along if you keep fighting for what you believe. Also, not ever client is going to like everything that you do and sometimes you're going to have to give them what they want whether or not you believe that it works or doesn't.
At first listening to the speakers, I questioned myself about whether I made the right decision or not choosing this path but then Amy Odell made a very good point when she said, "I could never see myself doing anything else." I thought about that later that night and realized no matter how hard things may get, I still can't see myself doing anything else either.
Overall a very good turnout and helped me think more about my future.
